Oily skin

Postby Roxie » Fri Jan 12, 2007 11:16 pm

I am trying false Eyelashes for the 1st time. I have oily skin & most times at the end of the day my eyelids are all oily. My question is that would the eyelashes stay in place if they were glued on properly?

& Would eyeliner make it worse. I really don't wear eyeshadow too much becuse of my oily skin.

Thanks for any help on this matter.

Hi Roxie,

The eyelashes should stay on in play if they were glued on properly. Most adhesives on the market will not stick to your eyelid or natural lashes that have been cleaned with an oil based make-up remover. Please make sure to use a face wash or remover this completely oil free, and do not apply any eye cream to the orbital area. In regards to the order of lashes and makeup, put the lashes on first. Wait for the glue to dry completely and then add the liquid eyeliner, and then the eyeshadow, etc. If you put the eye shadow/eye liner on first, it will interfere with the grip of the adhesive to your eyelid. The lashes stay better when the adhesive is on before adding makeup.

Best Luck!

Thanks for your reply.

I have another question 8-[

What about Eyeliner Pencil instead of the Liquid. My hands aren't steady enough for the liquidliner.

I have tried it & never can get a smooth line.

all liner will be the same as long as it's not oil based. i have slightly oily eyelids (only near the base of my lashes-- terrible!) and the lashes won't last as long. what would be best is that you clean that area thoroughly so no oil is left, and apply asap. all you can do is remove make up with an oilfree make up remover.. can't really stop lids from being oily :(

ok i've found a way to get the lashes to last for at least a week and a half now, per application, even with my oily lashes!
what i do is i put the lashes on like normal, and once it's dried i pour out a drop of new glue, pull my lid up so i can see the bottom of my lashes, and with the tweezer dipped in the glue, i 're-enforce' (add more glue to) each cluster, only the bottoms. and by doing it at the bottom of the lash the oily lid doesn't bother it and it the glue isn't as visible than if it were at the top. i use the black glue for this because with the clear, if some excess gets on your own lashes or sticks to the end of some of the fake ones they do dry white and looks odd.

Hope this helps someone!!!
