new at the false lashes

Post by tksmommy » Tue Sep 05, 2006 2:28 pm

I just decided to try false lashes last week. Bought them at the local drug store. (I got the type that are not very full b/c I wanted mine to just be enhanced and look more natural) My husband had no idea (and he tends to "pick me apart," especially with something on my face eg. a pimple or anything really) He did not notice until I tried to sleep in them, woke up and one was half off!

I also have 2 little girls (1 and 2yrs) and haven't had a problem so far.

They do take some getting used to (the feeling is about that of false/ acrylic/ gel type fingernails). After a few days, you almost forget they are there.

I will tell you that they do take practice, so don't get discouraged. And you WILL know when they are coming off (you definately feel it). And getting them off is simple, you just peel. So, if you happen to be somewhere and don't have the time or extra glue..... peel them off and no harm, no foul.

I like them! Just like the false fingernails and nice lingerie.... they just make me feel pretty.

It's addictive and affordingly so.

New myself and have had lash extensions which I loved but they kept falling out and it was quite expensive to upkeep it every 2 weeks or so. But the lash extensions look so natural and real. do you yours look fake and if not how do you get them to look so natural? I'm asian and have delicate, thin and shorter lashes and want to do this regulary for weekends and so forth. Also for the bottom lashes are there different lashes since the bottom ones are shorter and thinner than the top lashes.

Want to Try False Eyelashes

Hi, I am 27, sahm of 2 girls..own my own professional scrapbooking business and am extremely fair...but do sometimes get a light tan..and I do fake it..I have the most natural blondest hair...so of course my eyebrows and eyelashes have no color or pigment...now for me I love makeup...and have bought countless fake eyelashes but they have all ended up in drawers or trash cans..unopened or just thrown away...I don't even think I have bought glue..I would love to try them..but maybe afraid that on me that would be extremely noticable? and since I am fair I am prone to maybe sensitivities more than most people? and not sure what type of glues to even try? I wouldn't even know where to get them? I have stumbled onto this site by accident...my mom who is 47..has been talking to me about the eyelash extensions..and wants me to do research on them..I have to say I have never heard of them..funny since I have become a mom well my mom has passed me up on style..lol...any help, advice or guidance of someone who is totally blonde and about glues and what type to try and I want something that is going to stick..I can't have a fake eyelash fall off of me as I am chasing my children somewhere that would just be too funny...I don't think I could do the individual pieces...not sure I have the time for that...but the strips..and how do you know how to cut it to the right size? do you just line it up from one end of your eye to the outer end of your eye? I am sorry lots of questions here...thanks for anyone who tries and answers them...

Don't be. Ive been wearing them for more than 20 years before they were popular, the individuals. To date, my husband doesn't know. They are a part of me and I love them and the look they allow me to have. It very easy, just take your time. It takes me about an hour to do both my bottom and top lashes, AND THEY LOOK FABULOUS.
