Re: Nova Lash Deception

NovaLash eyelash extensions has sunk to a new low. Their web site now proclaims at the top of their home page that ???NovaLash is the ONLY lash extension product that is AEWCA-approved???. One is left wondering who is AEWCA? I did some checking on this. It is the ???American Extended-Wear Cosmetics Association???. Their web site is http://www.ae-wca.org. Their web site ???looks official??? and ???sounds official???. It ???warns??? against using any eyelash extension product that is not made by NovaLash.

To understand first hand, the deceptive nature of NovaLash, please visit http://www.DNSstuff.com. This is a public website that provides information about who registers and owns the domain name for websites. On the DNSstuff.com website, go to the third box down on the left column where it says, ???WHOIS lookup???.

In this box, type in the domain name for NovaLash, which is: http://www.lashextensions.com Repeat this with the domain name for this official looking site: http://www.ae-wca.org

You will quickly see that the President of NovaLash, Sophy Merszei, registered and owns BOTH websites.

I had to laugh when I looked at Novalash MSDS avaialble at there web site not one of the products is a medical grade. Ethyl CA's would not be used as a medical grade suture adhesive. Monomers used are Octyl-Butyl mix which are quite slow in curing. One other thing all medical grades are sterlised and supplied as a one shot application would only be used on one patent. Basically what you have here is a industrial rubber toughened adhesive very much lile say Loctite RT 380 more than lilely being supplied from a Korean producer.

Imagine the mentality of someone, like Ms. Merszei, President of Novalash eyelash extensions, who would conceive of the idea of creating an official looking web site, call it something that sounds impartial like the ???American Extended-Wear Cosmetics Association??? ??? and then pretend that it is meaningful that NovaLash is the only lash extension product that is approved by this organization. Ms. Sophy Merszie even has the audacity to call ALL other competing products ???toxic??? based on tests performed by this phony organization that SHE created!!!

Come on, Ms. Merszei. You should be ashamed of your deception.

Please visit http://www.DNSstuff.com. Ms. Merszei is obviously unaware that the entire planet can easily find proof of her deceptive practices with a few keystrokes.

On a side note, I have witnessed first hand the tremendous quality problems that NovaLash has had with their products. Furthermore, it is difficult to get NovaLash customer service to answer the phone to make a complaint. But don???t take my word for it. If you want to understand the general level of disgust with this company, please go to their website, click on ???Find Us??? then select ???NovaLash Professionals???. You will find over 200 names listed of actual NovaLash customers. I invite you to randomly call any 5 or 10 of those listed on Nova???s own site and simply ask them what they think about the company. You will probably be shocked at what you hear.

In my opinion NovaLash has used scare tactics about the safety of competitor???s products in order to market themselves. How can you trust anything that Ms. Merszei might say given the deception that she is willing to stoop to? If NovaLash was really concerned about safety, I believe they would raise their standards and REQUIRE, not just recommend, hands-on training to buy their product. NovaLash only recently began to sell only to licensed salons, probably in response to a lawsuit. Prior to this, anyone with a credit card could buy NovaLash products. I believe it is irresponsible to sell to untrained, unlicensed people and suggests that NovaLash is more interested in making a quick buck than in safety.
Thanks for your post! Very informative. :good: :good:
The glue that I use is Top quality. No Eye irritation or alergic reaction and INDEED last for 2 Months. It is true don't buy any glue from China you will be sorry. Before you buy open the bottle and smell the glue if it sends shivers down your spine, makes your nose burn and your eyes water then don't buy it. you should be able to hold the open bottle up to your Eyes and Nose without any problems. Re: Eyelash extensions

Eyelash extensions are typically made of synthetic hair fibers or mink lashes. These materials should not cause any problems or irritation to the eyes and lid. Cyanoacrylate based adhesive used to bond the extensions to your natural lashes may be source of the irritation. If applied incorrectly or if the extensions sit too close to the lash root, irritation can occur. The extensions is supposed to sits about 1 to 2mm away from the eyelid (on your natural lash) and any distance closer than this may cause problems with sensitive individuals. Sometimes, white crust can form form dried cyanoacrylate adhesive. Your natural lashes can fall out prematurely due to shock loss or localized irritation. If the extensions are removed, they will grow back.

I've been getting extensions now for the past 4 months and have had problems with my left eye being itchy, puffy and irritated after for a few days. I've just accepted that. However, this last time I had them done at a salon soemwhere else and both eyes have been itching nonstop for the past 3 days. The lashes feel super heavy when I blink and look really synthetic, although I was told they were mink. I looked near the lashline and saw cruty white stuff. I'm assuming this is glue that was applied right at the lashline. I'm freaking out... will this cause my natural lashes to fall out? Shuold I get them removed? There isn't supposed to be white stuff there, is there?

Help!

Irritated, Swollen Eyes, Glue Reaction

Post by Marielikes2shop@gmail.com » Sat Feb 25, 2012 8:54 pm

Just got Novalash Extensions yesterday afternoon. Woke up this morning and both eyes almost swollen shut. Eyelids oozing what appears to be infection along the edge of my eyeids., Eyelids are extremely swollen, under eye area is swollen also. Imediately went to eye doctor. He said that I am definatly allergic to the glue. He recommended that I get them off immediately. In the meantime, he put drops in my eyes to address the allergic reaction. he gave me a prescription for a topical ointment with a steroid in it to fight the infection inside my eyelids. The tube of cream costs $200 at the pharmacy. I almost fell off my chair when I heard the price. The doctor told me to wash my infected eyes with baby shampoo, Johnson & Johnson, No More Tears. It's a gentle wash that won't hurt your eyes. He also told me to put cold compresses like ice cubes wrapped in saran wrap or placed in a plastic baggie. The cold compresses will reduce the swelling significantly. Since I couldnt afford the small $200 tube of ointment, I slathered bacitracine ointment and another anti infection topical ointment all over my eyelids. I see a big improvement already. In the future I will always tell my lash stylist "not" to use the Platinum Glue Novalash glue and not to put adhesive tape on my bottom lid. I will ask for the Novalash glue for "sensitive" eyes and i will request that the glue not be placed close to my natural eyelash line. I will emphasize to my lash stylist that I fall in that small category of clients who have a severe allergic reaction to "any" glue so please do not let the glue "touch" my skin at all and by all means do not use the strongest Novalash glue, "Platinum" when doing my eyelashes or I will have an adverse reaction. Also, side note: several of my lash extensions have fallen out and 2 are glued upside down to my lower lid. Thankfully the company that did my lash extensions are standing behind their customer service policy. "If you're not happy with our work, come back and we'll make it right".

Hello

I've tried eye lash extension once. I felt that it was not worth it for the price. I mean they were nice but I learned I'm the type to like different looks of lashes, depending on my mood I guess. My friend gave me feathered lashes and I wanted to rock them in Las Vegas but I was afraid to wear them on top of my extensions. So any who I've decided I like
Strip falsies instead, preferably 100% human hair, feels great and comfortable and I can remove and reuse them.

Love it!!!
I am a professional technician of eyelash extensions. There are many types of eyelash glues out there. stay away from lashe glues that are made in china as they have very toxic ingredients. In my experience, the best glue is from a company called lavish lashes.

My clients have not complained about allergic reactions since I changed to this glue. it is a wonderful product. I also find it t be less expensive than all the other products of the same quality sold in the US. They ship to all over the world and I find that I am saving over 40% of what I used to pay when I purchased from 3d-lashes and from lavish.

They only sell to professionals though. So unless you are a lash extension professional, they will not deliver to you. But maybe you cal inform your eyelash profession about this company.

good luck with lash extensions! aren't they fun? i love them too!
I don't think you mentioned which glue you are using here. I would love to know.... Thanks!
its almost been a year since i've had my lash extensions and the past 2 times when i would go in for a refill, the following night my left eye would get so itchy n swollen, while the other one is fine.. i dont know what to do, i dont want to take them off :((
Itchy and swollen eyelid is a definite sign of skin allergic response. We recommend checking in with your eyelash technician to make sure the adhesive used is medical grade. If you are only getting reaction to the left eye, you can inform the technician to place the lash extension another 1 to 2mm further away from your natural lashes. The increase distance will prevent the allergic response from happening at the first place. Placing the extensions too close to the lash root WILL cause stinging in your clients eyes.

It is also important to follow aftercare instructions. After the refill application, pls make sure not to touch the extensions for at least 24 hours so the adhesive can cure completely.

Penny, I too am having this problem. I've been getting lash extensions for 6 months and have all of a sudden developed an irritation this last week. So upsetting since I'm so in love with these things! After 6 months you begin to feel they really are yours! I've heard it could be the tape used in the application, but know it could also be the glue. Anybody know why we are suddendly experiencing issues??

I, too, have been using eyelash extensions, and love them. but the last 2 applications have created tremendous irritations, where my eyelids are red, itchy and swollen. i don't understand, since i had used these successfully for 6 months- why this is just now happening...
anyone have advice on what to use to minimize this irritation? thanks!

I had my lash extension done by a Novalash Extension specialist. I must admit, the end result looks really good. My only problem is the lady promised me the extension will last a few months and this is simply not true. My extension started tp fall off the third week. Now I know they are not supposed to last for a few months as promised. I paid big money for this service and can not believe the false promise was made to me by the specialist. I had big expectation but only mediocre result. I am not against Novalash Extension but am mad at the specialist who did my extension. She should be more honest with me and refrain from making any false promise. I thought about posting her contact information here to make others aware but I guess that is not a nice thing to do. Now I apply my own extension myself using gypsy lashes. It is quite easy to do after some practice.

eye lashes / extensions?

Post by Tiffany » Mon Jul 31, 2006 9:59 am

I hope this isn't a dumb question....are false eye lashes that we apply ourselves the same thing as eye lash extensions?

Also, I loved the comment from the gal who has worn them for 20 years and her husband doesn't know! I've worn the individual false eye lashes for 15 years now. I thought I was the ONLY one unfortunate enough to have thin lashes that I find so embarrassing! In fact, my husband has no idea I wear false lashes!!!! Thank you for sharing that info; it feels good to 'not be alone' with my 'secret!' :)
